Every home in the Ananda's Luxury Homestays collection carries the same fingerprint of intention, warmth, and care. That fingerprint belongs to one woman: Cathy Nason.

Cathy has spent more than three decades as a professional interior designer, and for over twenty of those years she has been a proud member of the American Society of Interior Designers. Based in the mountain town of Truckee, California, she founded Spirit Interior Design, a studio built on a simple belief: a well-designed room can change how a person feels the moment they walk into it.

Her approach blends feng shui, sustainable materials, and an eye for how light and layout affect mood. It is design with a purpose beyond beauty.

Ananda's Luxury Homestays was born from a season of loss. After the passing of her beloved husband, Cathy inherited his mountain bike, and riding it became a way of carrying his spirit with her, through wind, trees, and quiet trails. Out of that grief came a new kind of creation: homes meant to offer other people the same peace she was searching for.

Alongside her stands Ananda, her blissful, mischievous doggie companion and the collection's namesake. She is always ready to remind guests to slow down, play a little, and feel alive again. Today, that spirit has grown into homes stretched across the country, from the mountains of Western North Carolina to the Rockies of Buena Vista, Colorado, and the alpine shores of Donner Lake, California. In the next few posts, we will take you through each corner of the Ananda's Luxury Homestays family and the beautiful areas that surround them. Consider this your introduction to the woman behind it all.
